Questions they ask when I crossed the Canada US border

i crossed the border and drove into the us yesterday, and here are a few questions he asked me.. the first question he asked me was, what's your nationality.....thats sounds normal.

then he asked, where are you going?

I drove into Canada about 3 years ago from Seattle, OMG they asked me why I was going to Canada, how much money do I have, how long did I plan on staying there, where was I going, do I know anyone in Canada, did I have any weapons or drugs in my car, then they made me pull over and go inside the office so an officer can talk to me. They told me next time to bring my birth certificate or passport. I was like Damn I don't want to go to Stupid Canada anymore!!!!

I didn't know we had a cold war with Canada!

but after that I had a blast it was fun

emanuel, for instance, was a witness who found fault with some things he read in publications of "the faithful and discreet slave.

" (matthew 24:45) he stopped reading our christian literature and eventually told the elders of the local congregation that he no longer wished to be one of jehovah's witnesses.

sometimes i think of all the pain i caused my parents when i left their home to pursue my bible studies.

it happend right around the holidays and my father's birthday, and seemed to be such a slap in the face to him.

he almost didn't come to my wedding, to walk me down the aisle, since i would not attend family functions around holidays and birthdays (he did walk me down the aisle; after i made some appearances but made it clear i was not celebrating).. now that i am out, i am so glad i have been able to repair my relationships with my parents and siblings.

Isn't it amazing how people/family of other faiths accept and respect the JW family members, but get treated like shit by the JW's. They expect to receive respect of all non-JW in their beliefs but never give what the expect!

Elders son is GAY!!!

just looked up my old high school in classmates.com, i saw this dude who was a couple years older than me, didn't really know him but i knew his brother (who left the org the same time i did), his dad kicked him out of the house and he lived in his car, they are sons of one of the elders (assholes) who df'd my dad.

the good son was a good little jw that did everything a jw father (elder) would want his son to do, on his bio on classmates.com he says that he is gay, ha ha ha ha.

it just struck me when i read it that nobody was wanting the first world war you know?

this was dated august of 1914. all hell broke loose pretty soon thereafter.

there but for four months...the jws wouldnt have had a damn thing to say about "what happened in 1914".

Ok putting on my History Cap, Yes at that time the popular idea was that Europes war is Europes problem, we were in the middle of economic growth the Industralist years, America was pretty happy and for the first time a generation of "working class" could spend time enjoying recreational activites, so why would you want to ruin all that by entering a war that was so far away, what did this have to do with us.

This is one reason why I think the JW's at that time thought that the world was going to end, due to global conflict and the war that was suppose to be the War to end all wars. I imagine that if CNN was around back then to cover the trench war fare the JW's would have pass around the Koolaide. Also I believe this year was also the outbreak of the Spanish Influenza, that and a World War, it must have looked like the end of the world.

I was 19 when an elder came on to me

i was a nineteen year old kid when a jw elder in his late fifties came on to me.

i was going through some awful stuff and dropped by his mobile home for spiritual counsel and a listening ear.

he answered the door in skivvies and a t-shirt.

now that you have attended apostafests and gotten to know people over the phone or by email here at jwd do you feel you have made life long friends;you know the kind you'd expect to come to your wedding or to be there at your funeral - would drop in on for coffee if you ever happened to be in their part of the world?.

or is it primarily just a forum of faceless entities who you appreciate the comments and support of online but don't necessarily feel an affection for or an urge to meet or further cement that friendship?

JW official website promoting Jesus?

i have heard from many people when i would go out in the ministry that "we" witness do not believe in jesus.

when my mother first heard about me becoming interested in the witness that is what she said.

ive seen some make that same statement here.

I don't have anything against gays or lesbians at all some of my friends are gay, but this is too funny, that Elder was such a high and mighty jerk, and now looks like both of his sons have left the ~~Truth~~ I am happy for them, but boy wish I could have been a fly on the wall when he came out to his dad.
